Iran movie ‘Azar’ to appear on silver screen in Europe

Iranian movie ‘Azar’ directed by Mohammad Hamzei has been set to be screened in a number of European countries.

Produced by popular Iranian actress Niki Karimi, the movie will go on the screen in the UK, Germany, Sweden, France and Austria.

The European screening of ‘Azar’ will kick off on January 5, 2018, in the presence of the cast and crew.

“I had aspirations for myself. I wanted to become a champion. I wanted to resist what the society imposes on me,” a short synopsis of the movie reads.

Niki Karimi, Hamidreza Azarang, Farid Sajjadi-Hosseini, Hasti Mahdavi, Leila Zare, Maedeh Tahmasebi, Pejman Jamshidi and Houman Seyyedi star in the movie.

'Azar' is Karimi's second production after 'Night Shift' while she has also directed three other movies so far.

Born in 1971, Karimi's interest in films and literature inspired her to become an actress at a very young age.

She has starred in many Iranian films and series and won several awards at national and international film festivals.
